Biography: |
Levi first made his mark on the professional scene as a transcriber notorious for his work on the jazz influenced shred of players like Guthrie Govan and Shawn Lane. Since then he has working credits with numerous top names such as Tom Quayle, Jeff Loomis, Andy James, Marco Sfogli and many more.
Coming from a rock background, as a player and educator Levi landed his first professional roles as a teacher alongside names like Martin Goulding, Guthrie Govan and Andy James. While achieving relative success on the shred scene it was around this time Levi's love of blues, country and jazz music really became his main pursuit. Since then Levi has held positions as a teacher and writer specializing in Jazz fusion, blues fusion and transcritpion in publications such as Premier Guitar, Axe, Guitar Interactive and more. His broad understanding of styles and methodical approach has resulted in consistent work in recording, performing and writing.
Best known as a LickLibrary instructor and assistant editor of Guitar Interactive magazine, Levi currently has 2 best selling DVDs with Licklibrary which have been licensed by Hal Leonard for international distribution, and along with providing transcriptions for all LickLibrary DVDs, there are plans for a continued series of DVDs.
As a live player Levi spent time building a following with his rock band Hellcat Molly around the London area, putting out an EP of original material to great critical response. When scheduling became an issue for members, Levi continued to host clinics and work in more interactive settings. After the response to the single "Forever Again", Levi has decided to work on releasing a full album of rock material in the near future, abandoning the jazz and fusion influences and even forgetting the guitar playing, instead, focusing on the songs.
